World’s Largest Catherine Wheel

Posted by Mark Neville on April 17, 2012 0 Comments

Almost a year ago Lily Fireworks Factory in Malta secured a Guinness World Record after creating the worlds largest Catherine Wheel. A staggering 32.004m across (105ft 1.56 inches), it was a free standing fixture and during the Guinness World Record adjudication managed 4 revolutions under ts own propulsion. For those of you who haven’t seen it, here she is...

The previous record was actually held by Britain’s Newick Bonfire Society. Set in October 1999 it took 12 years for the record to be broken. With all the momentous occasions taking place this year we cant believe that someone, somewhere isn't plotting a rival wheel in the hope of stealing the crown. Only time will tell of course but keep your ears to the ground and if you discover the new contender be sure to let us know!!

We unfortunately can’t offer a 34m Catherine Wheel but at Stealth Fireworks we do have a vast selection of pyrotechnics; whether you’re after garden fireworks, big rockets, single ignitions or a more acceptable sized catherine wheel, we have it all. Pop along to our Southampton store or visit our website for full details and to place your order.
