British Firework Championships

Since 1997 the British Firework Championships have taken place in Plymouth during August. This year the competition ran over the 14th and 15th August. One of the biggest annual displays in the UK, professional firework displays are put on by an assortment of top firework companies to entertain the masses.

This year was a special one as they welcomed back the previous winners from the past six years to decide the Champions of Champions! Each competitor produced a 10 minute display over the 2 nights before the judges determined the winner. 60 whole minutes of displays? That’s a lot of free fireworks to enjoy!

As if that wasn’t enough, there is also lots of entertainment on offer to keep everyone amused. From a fun fair and live music on the Hoe to a range of restaurants and hospitality facilities around the Barbican and Waterfront.

Here was the all important running order:

Tuesday 14th August

  1. Star Fireworks

  2. Phoenix Fireworks

  3. MLE Pyrotechnics

Wednesday 15th August

  1. Selstar Fireworks

  2. Pendragon Fireworks

  3. Jubilee Fireworks

Make sure you pop back when we announce the winner!
