At Stealth Fireworks safety is paramount; not only in the way we conduct our business, keeping our staff and customers safe in our Southampton fireworks store, but to those same customers when they get home and are enjoying the fantastic fireworks they’ve purchased from us.
If you’re planning your own Bonfire Night fireworks display this November then please make sure, where ever you purchase your celebration fireworks from, you follow these simple rules to ensure a safe time is had by all:
- Only buy fireworks marked BS 7114
- Do not drink alcohol if igniting fireworks
- Before use, keep fireworks in a closed box
- Follow the instructions on each firework; they all vary.
- Always light at arms length using a taper
- Always stand at recommended viewing distance on the box
- Never go back to a firework that’s been lit, even if it hasn’t gone off - it could still explode!
- Supervise children at all times when around fireworks
- Always wear gloves when handling sparklers
- Never give sparklers to anyone under 5 years of age
- Keep pets indoors
- Do not release fireworks after 11pm, even on 5th November! The only exception to this rule are fireworks for New Years (1am)
